NECA Black-And-White Bride Of Frankenstein Figure Arrives

by Thomas Tuna

Here comes the (authentic) bride.

NECA is augmenting its Universal Monsters line–as well as its previous rollout of a color version of the Bride of Frankenstein–with a black-and-white figure that’s true to the original, classic 1935 horror film. Check out the photos of the new figure–courtesy of Toyark–on this page.

This black-and-white variant of NECA’s Bride of Frankenstein Ultimate seven-inch scale figure–based on Elsa Lanchester’s immortal look–is now available for pre-order for $35, and is scheduled to ship in September.

This collectible–like the color version–includes a removable fabric gown, three interchangeable portraits, bandages and multiple interchangeable hands.

The famous sequel Bride of Frankenstein–directed by James Whale from a screenplay by William Hurlbut–stars Lanchester in the dual roles of the Bride and Mary Shelley, Boris Karloff as the Monster and Colin Clive as Dr. Henry Frankenstein.

Considered by many to be the greatest horror sequel ever, the storyline follows Dr. Frankenstein as he tries to abandon his plans to create life, only to be blackmailed by his former mentor–along with threats from the Monster–into building a mate for his first creation.
