More Trouble for ‘Blade’ Reboot

by Rob Caprilozzi

“I have spent my whole life lookin’ for that thing that killed my mother, and made me what I am. And every time I take one of those monsters out, I get a little piece of that life back.”

Maybe some films shouldn’t be remade. Marvel Studios Blade has just lost its director, according to a report on The Wrap. Yann Demange exited the film “a while ago” and the departure was said to be “entirely amicable.”

As you may recall, Demange was director number two to leave the project after he replaced Bassam Tariq.

Mahershala Ali is still attached to star in the pic, even though it’s been five years since the announcement on July 20, 2019. In July 23, 2022 at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige announced the film would shoot that October and be released on Nov. 3, 2023.

Now, in a bit of brighter news, Eric Pearson (The Fantastic Four, Thor: Ragnarok) has agreed to write the script, which makes him at least the sixth writer to tackle the screenplay.

Believe it or not, the film is still slated to be released on November 7, 2025. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for more updates on Blade.
