Maybe the collectible will have more bite than the movie.
Apparently undaunted by the poor box office results of the Jared Leto-led Morbius film, Hot Toys has unveiled a 1/6-scale figure of Marvel’s living vampire. Check out the photos of the figure–courtesy of The Toyark–on this page.
The figure–fashioned in the likeness of Leto’s onscreen persona–is priced at $260 and is scheduled for release between the third and fourth quarters of next year.
The movie-accurate figure stands 12 inches tall with 30 points of articulation–and features a newly developed head sculpt (complete with red eyes and dangerous fangs), four interchangeable hands, a tailored outfit with long coat, a swarm of bats, several pieces of speeding effects parts and a figure stand.
Morbius–directed by Daniel Espinosa from a screenplay by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless–stars Leo as Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist who tries to find a cure for his rare blood disorder, but “a darkness inside him is unleashed.” And moviegoers didn’t like what they saw.
The film–delayed several times due to the pandemic–finally hit theaters in April and was swiftly lambasted by critics and fans alike. At the box office, Morbius earned just $163 million worldwide on an $80-million budget.
