French actor Gaspard Ulliel–one of the stars in the upcoming Disney+ Moon Knight series–today succumbed to injuries suffered while he was skiing, according to a report on Deadline. Ulliel was 37 years old.
The news agency AFP reported that Ulliel was skiing on the slopes in the Savoie region when he was involved in a collision. The actor reportedly was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Grenoble, where he was treated for head injuries, but did not survive.
Ulliel–who portrays Anton Mogart, also known as Midnight Man, in Moon Knight–is known for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in 2007’s Hannibal Rising, as well as roles in Saint Laurent and It’s Only the End of the World.
It is not known at this time if this tragedy will have an effect on the Moon Knight series–starring Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke–that is scheduled to debut on Disney+ March 30.
