Mondo Rolls Out R.J. MacReady Action Figure Next Summer

Here’s a timely Halloween purchase.

Mondo first announced an R.J. MacReady figure–based on Kurt Russell’s iconic character from John Carpenter’s 1982 The Thing–back in May, and now the company revealed pre-orders will open today–Halloween. Check out photos of the action figure–courtesy of Toyark–on this page.

The 1/6-scale collectible–available at MondoShop.com for $265–is expected to ship in July 2024.

The regular edition will include the action figure, two swap-our portraits, interchangeable hands, a flamethrower, a shotgun, a pistol and a display stand. The exclusive edition highlights the Norris Spider Head thing and the Dog Thing as accessories.

The Thing–helmed by Carpenter from a screenplay by Bill Lancaster–stars Russell as a helicopter pilot who helps a group of researchers in Antarctica who encounter the titular Thing, an extraterrestrial life form that assimilates–and then imitates–other organisms.
