The Dynamic Duo of small-screen horror are on the move.
Mike Flanagan, Trevor Macy and their Intrepid Pictures company–the movers and shakers behind a slew of genre hits–are leaving Netflix and taking their show to Amazon Studios, according to a report on Deadline.
Their multiyear pact with Netflix has expired, and the new collaboration with Amazon will see their future projects streaming exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries worldwide.
The filmmaking pair–responsible for such series as The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass–said in a statement that they have “long admired” Amazon, adding that the studio’s “commitment to groundbreaking series and content aligns with the ethos of what we have built at Intrepid.”
Vernon Sanders, Amazon’s head of global television, said Flanagan and Macy are “remarkable at telling immersive, suspenseful stories that keep audiences engaged from start to finish. We are excited to welcome them to Amazon Studios.”
In related news–as reported here in Horror News Network–Flanagan’s The Midnight Club was not renewed for a second season at Netflix. It’s not known at this time if the series will continue on Prime Video.
