Will Mia Goth be the “x” factor?

Goth–the acclaimed star of horror hits and Pearl–has joined the cast of the Marvel Studios reboot of the 1998 Wesley Snipes-led Blade as the film readies to shoot in Atlanta next month, according to a report on Deadline.

It was not revealed who Goth will play in the vampire thriller–scheduled for a theatrical release Sept. 6, 2024–but she joins star Mahershala Ali, Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre and Milan Ray.

The remake–directed by Yann Demange (Lovecraft Country) from a screenplay by Michael Starrbury–reportedly will follow Eric Cross (aka Blade)–a half-human, half-vampire hybrid–who has spent his long life “seeking to rid the world of vampires like the one who killed his mother.”

The Marvel Comics Blade character–created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan (ably assisted by inker Tom Palmer)–debuted in the award-winning The Tomb of Dracula No. 10 way back in 1973.
