You’re gonna need a bigger shelf.
This is an action figure worthy of a king–King of the Monsters, that is. Mezco Toyz this week unveiled a collectible that will likely tower over the rest of your prizes, according to figures.com.
The Ultimate Godzilla–standing 18 inches tall and stretching 33 inches from impressive teeth to dangerous tail–is the latest from Mezco. The figure boasts 10 points of articulation–including a hinged jaw and a powerful tail that sports an internal skeleton armature that is both durable and posable.
And that’s not all. This Godzilla features a light-up mouth and dorsal fin, as well as its trademark roar, that are activated by buttons hidden away on its back.
The figure–which comes packaged in a collector-friendly box–is scheduled to ship sometime between August and October 2022. Pre-orders are now available for (and here’s the downside) a King-sized $450. At least shipping is free in the continental U.S.
The last time we saw the giant radioactive lizard was this year’s Godzilla vs. Kong from Legendary Pictures. The blockbuster–from director Adam Wingard and screenwriters Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein–was the 36th movie for the kaiju, which first appeared in 1954’s Godzilla and went on to become a pop culture mainstay.
