Mckenna Grace Set To Return For Next ‘Ghostbusters’ Film

by Jayson Drury

Ready for more bustin’?

McKenna Grace is. One of the stars of last year’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Grace will reprise her role as Phoebe in the next as-yet-untitled entry in the horror-comedy franchise slated for a December 2023 release.

Grace–in an interview with comicbook.com–said she is as much in the dark about the next film as everyone else, but added she is “just excited to do a second one. I’m just excited to be Phoebe.”

No plot details–nor a title–have been revealed yet, but the film will return the franchise to the streets of Manhattan, where the original storyline unfolded 38 years ago. “I have no ounce of a clue what the story is,” Mckenna said. Hopefully, the actor and all fans will be enlightened soon.

Afterlife–directed by Jason Reitman from a screenplay he wrote with Gil Kenan–follows Callie (Carrie Coon), who inherits the family farm and moves in, along with Phoebe and her brother Trevor (Finn Wolfhard). There they discover secrets of the legacy of their family and a terrifying paranormal entity that threatens therm all.

The film also saw the return of such legacy stars as Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts–as well as an homage to the late Harold Ramis.

With more than a year to go until its release, power up your particle accelerators and keep reading Horror News Network for further updates on the next Ghostbusters entry.
