Get ready for the 1980s.
MaXXXine–the third film in Ti West’s X horror trilogy–boasts an impressive cast as it heads into production later this month, according to a report on Deadline.
The Mia Goth-led A24 feature also stars Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Moses Sumney (The Idol), Michelle Monaghan (Nanny), Bobby Cannavale (The Watcher), Lily Collins (Emily in Paris), Halsey (Americana), Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian) and Kevin Bacon (Friday the 13th).
MaXXXine follows last year’s successful X and Pearl–with X being set in the 1970s, and Pearl acting as a sequel taking place in 1918. The new film takes place in the 1980s, “with Maxine (Goth), the sole survivor of the violent events of X, setting out to make it as an actress in Los Angeles,” according to the synopsis.
Jacob Jaffke, Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss will produce the film–along with West and Goth.
Goth praised MaXXXine, saying it has “the best script of the three by far. It’s going to be the best movie of the three. Maxine has gone through so much at this point, so when we find her in this new world, she’s a force to be reckoned with. And she goes through some pretty wild adventures.”
