by John Evans

Mackenzie Davis has been making waves in the worlds of science fiction and horror with key appearances in Black Mirror, Blade Runner 2049, and The Martian. Now, she’s in talks to appear in one of the most revered genre favorites of all time with a role in the upcoming James Cameron/Tim Miller “reboot” of The Terminator franchise!

Variety reports that Mackenzie Davis is currently in negotiations to join the cast of the upcoming movie in the form of a role “in the vein of Schwarzenegger’s robotic assassin.” According to Variety’s sources, Davis is director Tim Miller’s first choice, and the casting decision just needs to be approved by producer James Cameron, who is currently working on the upcoming Avatar sequels.

While the film is being referred to as a “reboot,” both Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are set to return to their iconic roles in the new film. The movie is said to be a direct sequel to 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which will erase the events of the less-successful films which have been released in the interim.

Terminator film is set to hit theaters on July 16th, 2019. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for more details on this exciting project as they break!
