Whatever you do, always leave a good-looking corpse.

Lisa Frankenstein–yet another modern twist on the classic Mary Shelley story–now has an early 2024 theatrical release, according to a report on Deadline. Check out the very brief teaser on this page.

The horror-comedy–set for a Feb. 9, 2024 opening–will see Zelda Williams make her feature film directorial debut, working from a screenplay by Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body).

Set in 1989, the film follows a high school girl who resurrects a handsome Victorian corpse using her tanning bed and a lightning storm, hoping to bring the perfect man into her life. Unfortunately, these efforts have their consequences.

The cast includes Cole Sprouse (Riverdale) as the “monster”, Kathryn Newton (Freaky), Carla Gugino (The Fall of the House of Usher), Joe Chrest (Stranger Things), Henry Eikenberry (The Crowded Room) and actress/singer Liza Soberano (making her Hollywood debut).
