Lionsgate To Back New Film Adaptation Of ‘Creepers’

by Thomas Tuna

There’s nothing like an abandoned hotel to give you the creeps.

Lionsgate this week joined with Suretone Pictures to finance Creepers–a new film with horror, thriller and supernatural elements that will start shooting in Bulgaria later this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Casting is expected to wrap up soon.

Creepers–based on the David Morrell horror novel of the same name–will be helmed by Marc Klasfeld, who is making his feature film directorial debut. “I have waited decades to find the right feature film project,” Klasfeld said, “and I can’t wait for the world to see what we have in store.”

The film follows a group of “young urban explorers who investigate an old, boarded-up, seemingly abandoned hotel, only to encounter danger at every turn from a competing group of hostile urban explorers seeking a legendary hidden treasure–and a supernatural being that wreaks havoc on all,” according to the synopsis.
