by Thomas Tuna

Where is your imaginary friend?

Imaginary–a new horror pic from Blumhouse Productions–has been acquired by Lionsgate for worldwide distribution, according to a report on Deadline.

The film–directed by Jeff Wadlow (The Curse of Bridge Hollow) from a screenplay he wrote with Greg Erb, Jason Oremland and Bryce McGuire–is now being cast, with an eye toward a springtime production start.

Produced by Jason Blum and Wadlow, the feature will be presented to buyers at this month’s European Film Market. No release window has yet been announced.

In Imaginary, a young woman “returns to her childhood home only to discover the imaginary friend she left behind is very real–and very unhappy she left,” according to the brief logline.
