Lionsgate Bringing Horror Short Story ‘Big Bad’ To Theaters

by Thomas Tuna

Listen to the children of the night.

Big Bad–a short story by Chandler Baker–is headed to the big screen from Lionsgate, according to a report on Deadline. No details on casting, production schedules or a release window were released.

Chris Landon–who last year left the director’s chair on the problem-plagued Scream 7–has been picked to helm the feature. Baker reportedly will adapt her story for the screen. Landon also will produce the feature, along with Todd Lieberman.

Big Bad–part of Baker’s Creature Feature anthology–finds the Strauss family in distress: Sam is a resentful stay-at-home dad and Rachel feels “the restlessness in her blood returning.” In addition, their children are getting out of hand.

And then things get worse. A recent mudslide has forced wolves out of the woods to look for food. One night, the family “must come together to survive the night–from the threats outside and those within.”
