Lewis Pullman Lands Lead Role in ‘Salem’s Lot’

Gary Dauberman has found his lead in the upcoming Salem’s Lot film.

Lewis Pullman (Aftermath, The Strangers: Prey at Night) has landed the lead role of Ben Mears, a writer who returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot and learns that residents are preyed upon by vampires, in New Line’s adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel, according to a report on The Hollywood Reporter.

James Wan is attached to produce the film with Dauberman handling both the writing and directing duties.

Released shortly before Halloween in 1975, Salem’s Lot was Stephen Kings second published novel. A few years later, in 1979, Salem’s Lot was made into a two-part television series and starred David Soul (Starsky and Hutch, Here Come the Brides) as Ben Mears. The series was so well received that it was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards.

Shooting is slated to begin in Boston in a few weeks. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for the latest news on Salem’s Lot.
