‘Legion’ Season Two Trailer Makes You Question Your Sanity

by Nick Banks

To the delight of fans of smart sci-fi/horror everywhere, FX renewed their genre-bending cult favorite Legion for a second season.  Now we have a teaser for season two (which debuts on April 3) and you may want to listen to the alluring Aubrey Plaza in this short clip.

Legion (based on the trippy New Mutants run by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz) stars Dan Stevens as David Haller, a man who originally believed himself to be schizophrenic, but later discovered that he may actually be one of the most powerful mutants the world has ever seen.  While it is based on the Marvel series from the 1980s, you really don’t need any backstory on the comic to enjoy this series, and the television program goes to places that no X-Men story has gone so far.

The eclectic cast of characters also includes Syd (Rachel Keller) a body switching woman who is terrified of being touched and Lenny (the aforementioned Plaza), David’s odd friend who may actually be an ancient demonic force.  The series also stars  Jean Smart, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, Bill Irwin, Hamish Linklater, Navid Negahban, and the scene stealing Jermaine Clement as an inter-dimensional “space swinger”.

Noah Hawley (Fargo) serves as Executive Producer, along with John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.

If you need to catch up on the first season, the blu-ray collection will be released on March 27.

Be sure to check back after the first episode of Legion season two airs for the official HNN review.
