A new reign of terror begins.

Godzilla: Minus One–yet one more installment in the big, angry lizard’s incredible film franchise–hits our shores about a month from now, and a new teaser trailer has dropped that shows the destruction to come. Check out the video on this page.

The PG-13 Soho Inc. film–from writer/director Takahashi Yamazaki–stomps into theaters Dec. 1. This will be the 33rd Japanese-language entry in the kaiju series, and the 37th overall. The big guy sure doesn’t look his age.

In the movie–set in post-war Japan–Godzilla once again unleashes his mighty wrath against the threatened populace. Will the frightened people survive–let alone fight back?

This new version of Godzilla is a “terrifying and overwhelming force”, according to Toho president Koji Ueda. Of course–that’s what he is.

The original 1954 Godzilla–from filmmaker Ishiro Honda–deals with Japan’s authorities coping with the sudden appearance of a giant monster (Godzilla, right?) whose attacks trigger fears of a nuclear holocaust.
