The Insidious 5 cast and crew just heard those three magic words–That’s a wrap!
The latest entry in the horror franchise started by director James Wan and screenwriter Leigh Whannell in 2010 has finished shooting, according to a report on Collider, and all eyes are now on the film’s July 7, 2023 theatrical release.
6 weeks of (fake) blood, sweat, and tears, and now he’s mine all mine once again. ? So proud @patrickwilson73 directed a movie, (and killed it, no pun intended) but man oh man we sure have missed him… #thatsawrap pic.twitter.com/KX7qX4aGjg

Dagmara Dominczyk–the wife of the film’s director and star Patrick Wilson–announced the wrap with a Twitter post seen on this page.
The movie–from Screen Gems and Stage 6 Films–is helmed by Wilson from a screenplay by Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) and stars Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, Sinclair Daniel, Peter Dager and Hiam Abbass–along with Wilson, who reprises his Josh Lambert role.
Insidious 5 reportedly picks up a decade after the second entry in the franchise, as Dalton Lambert (Simpkins) starts his college career.
The original Insidious–starring Wilson, Byrne, Simpkins, Barbara Hershey and Lin Shaye–tells the horrifying story of a couple whose son slips into a comatose state and becomes a vessel for entities in an astral dimension called The Further, who want to inhabit his body.
