The star power is ganging up on the Big Guy.
The upcoming Godzilla and the Titans series (still waiting for an official title) on its way to Apple TV+ continues to add to its cast, and a veteran genre star has joined the fold–along with his son.
Kurt Russell (Escape from New York) and his son Wyatt (Under the Banner of Heaven) have signed on for the project, and will work with director Matthew Shakman (WandaVision), who will helm at least the first two episodes.
The roles for the father/son team were not divulged, but they will work alongside Anna Sawai, who will play Cate; Kiersey Clemons, as May; Joe Tippert, as Tim; and Ren Watabe, as Kentaro.
The series–created by executive producers Matt Fraction (Hawkeye) and Chris Black (Star Trek: Enterprise)–is set after the battle between Godzilla and the Titans “that leveled San Francisco” and confirmed that “monsters are real,” according to the synopsis.
The storyline will explore “one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.”
The executive producers on the series–which does not yet have a release window–also include Tory Tunnell, Joby Harold, Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita.
