Deadline reported today that Kristine Froseth (Rebel in the Rye) has been cast in TNT’s upcoming pilot based on John Ajvide Lindqvist’s best selling novel “Let the Right One In.” Froseth will play vampire Eli, who was previously portrayed by Lina Leandersson in 2008’s Swedish movie adaptation of the same name, and Chloë Grace Moretz in 2010’s American adaptation Let Me In.

The story follows a young boy named Henry who is bullied by classmates, when he befriends a girl named Eli, who has recently moved to town. A series of murders begin occurring following Eli’s arrival, which draws the attention of local law enforcement.

The pilot script is written by Jeff Davis (Criminal Minds, Teen Wolf). He is executive producing the series along with  Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements,  Alex Brunner and original screenplay producer Carl Molinder. Tomorrow Studios is producing.

The 2008 film adaptation Let the Right One, directed by Tomas Alfredson, received critical acclaim and is well known to horror fans. The American film adaptation Let Me In also received generally positive reviews. The best selling book even went on to spawn a comic prequel adaptation called Let Me In: Crossroads from Dark Horse Comics. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for further updates.
