Our ‘Kill of the Week” comes from Maniac (1980)
PLOT: In this gritty slasher classic, the eponymous killer stalks and scalps beautiful women on the streets of New York City.
KILL: In one of his early efforts, SFX Master Tom Savini not only created the effect but also plays the role of a man whose head explodes by way of a shotgun blast through the windshield of his car. This opens the door (for window that matter) for The Maniac to fire a second shot killing his date.
