Deadline is reporting that Kill Creek has been put into development as an hour-long drama by Showtime. Scott Derrickson who has directed Hellraiser: Inferno, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and Sinister is set to direct. Derrickson will also be an executive producer alongside Lovecraft Country writer, Misha Green.
Kill Creek follows the story of a handful of horror writers who are invited to spend Halloween night in the haunted Finch House. What begins as a publicity stunt becomes a fight for survival as an evil entity threatens their every move.
Published on Halloween by Inkshares in 2017, Kill Creek debuted to many positive reviews and was a finalist for the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a First Novel, and won the American Library Association’s Horror Book of 2017 Award. The books author, Scott Thomas has written for a myriad of networks including ABC, MTV, Nickelodeon, and the CW. In 2014 Thomas was nominated for a Daytime Emmy (Outstanding Writing in a Children’s Series) for his work on R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.
