Even dinosaurs need a little help sometimes.
A new image from the much-anticipated Jurassic World: Dominion shows Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady trying to rescue a parasaur from poachers in the wintry Sierra Nevadas–a small taste of the dino-action that’s sure to fill the big screen when the film hits theaters June 10, 2022. Director Colin Trevorrow has kept story details close to the vest so far, but he did say Dominion is set “all over the world, through many different environments–wilderness, urban, desert, snow. It’s exciting to see these creatures navigate environments they weren’t built to survive in. They grew up in a theme park, and now they’re here!”
Dominion–directed by Trevorrow from a screenplay he wrote with Emily Carmichael–is a collaboration between Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. The film stars Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Jake Johnson, Scott Haze, Campbell Scott and Dichen Lachman–as well as the returning trio of Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic Park.
Trevorrow called Dominion a “rare film” and a “true ensemble. Laura, Sam and Jeff have as much screen time as Bryce and Chris do. They’re not together the entire time, but we are following both of their stories equally. And you have the sense they’re going to collide at a certain point.”
