Julian Sands–‘Warlock’ Actor– Passes Away At Age 65

Julian Sands–known to genre fans for his roles in Warlock, Arachnophobia and Gothic--has passed away after having gone missing in the Mount Baldy wilderness outside Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sands was 65.

Sands–born in Otley, West Yorkshire, England–made his acting debut in a local performance at age eight. At 13, he won a scholarship to Lord Wandsworth College, and subsequently moved to London to study at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

His genre resume also includes roles in Naked Lunch (1991), Witch Hunt (1994), The Phantom of the Opera (1998) and Rose Red (2002)–as well as the TV series Dexter and Gotham. Sands will also appear in the upcoming Death Rider in the House of Vampires.

Sands is survived by his second wife Evgenia Citkowitz and his children Henry, Natalya and Imogen.
