Looks like it can be scary to be great.
A new horror film pitch Goat–a reference to the frequently tossed-around sports acronym for Greatest Of All Time–has been snapped up by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, according to a report on Deadline.
This project–which will be part of Peele’s overall deal with Universal Pictures–is being kept under wraps at this early juncture, but what is known is that the storyline will follow a promising young athlete who’s invited to train with a team’s retiring star.
Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie (the Facebook series Limetown) will handle the screenplay. A director for the film has not yet been announced, and no details on a production schedule have been released.
Peele’s next feature will be the horror film Nope–set to hit theaters July 22–which reportedly will deal with a hostile alien invasion near a lonely gulch of inland California.
