The follow-up to Joker–directed by Todd Phillips from a screenplay he wrote with Scott Silver–is currently in production for an Oct. 4, 2024 release.
Plot details for the Warner Bros. and DC Films musical entry have been hard to come by, but the film reportedly will be set amid the horrors of Arkham Asylum.
In the film, Joaquin Phoenix reprises his Oscar-winning title role–joining Gaga (as his love interest), Harry Lawtey, Jacob Lofland, Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener and Brendan Gleeson.
The original Joker follows failed clown and aspiring stand-up comedian Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), whose descent into madness leads him to become the maniacal Joker. A huge success, Joker became the first R-rated film to earn more than $1 billion at the box office.
