John Krasinski Currently Writing ‘A Quiet Place’ Sequel

by Rob Caprilozzi

THR is reporting that John Krasinski is writing a sequel to A Quiet Place. During a Q&A session at the Silver Screen Theatre in Los Angeles, the former Office star said “Then I had this small idea for a sequel, but I didn’t think it would go anywhere. So, I said to the studio, ‘Just go do the movie with somebody else.'”

As Paramount started to listen to pitches from other filmmakers Krasinski’s creative juices continued to flow. “They heard some pitches, and I told [producer] Drew [Form] about this little idea,” said Krasinski. “And he told me to think about it a little longer. And then I thought, ‘This might really work.’ So, I’m currently writing the sequel.”

The post-apocalyptic horror tale starred John Krasinski and his real-life wife Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. A Quiet Place debuted March 9, 2018 at the SXSW Film Festival and had its official release April 6, 2018. The film raked in $334.5 million dollars on an estimated budget of $20 million dollars. Upon seeing the success of the first film, Paramount quickly greenlit a sequel.

A Quiet Place 2 is set to open May 15, 2020. Keep it tuned to Horror News Network for more news as it becomes available.
