Tomorrow will not be the last drive-in for Joe Bob Briggs.
Shudder has renewed the popular horror movie talk show The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs for a fifth season, according to a report on comicbook.com, so the final episode of Season 4–set to air tomorrow, July 1–will hardly be the last rodeo for Joe Bob.
No debut date for Season 5 was revealed, but fans can expect at least one or two holiday specials on Shudder (as in past years) before the next season kicks in.
Briggs thanked Shudder in a statement for “giving us the chance to hang out another year with the greatest fans in media. I’m constantly amazed by their affection, and I’m constantly learning from them.”
Shudder general manager Craig Engler said the streamer is “delighted” to bring back Joe Bob, Marcy and the team for another season of “crazy movies, live-tweeting and the most entertaining commentary on TV. We’ll also have more special guests and themed holiday episodes because–as Joe Bob says–the drive-in never dies.”
The series started back in July 2018, when Shudder and Briggs presented a 24-hour marathon that was meant to be a farewell from Briggs to his fans. But the show was a smash, and the streamer brought Briggs back for a regular series and a string of holiday specials.
