Jim Lee To Create 60 Original Sketches Benefiting Local Comic Shops

by John Evans

Comic book icon Jim Lee just became a real life superhero to local brick and mortal comic book shops! The living legend announced an ambitious plan to create 60 original sketches over the next 60 days, and he will auction them off on eBay to benefit local brick and mortar comic shops that are closed due to coronavirus shelter at home directives.

Each sketch is penciled and inked by Lee, and his initial subjects span everyone from main characters to more obscure fan favorites, including Nightwing, Bizarro, Azrael, Doctor Fate, and The Batman Who Laughs. To make things even more interesting, the highest bidder of the current sketch gets to pick the next DC character that Lee will sketch in the series. Lee is promising no duplicates, so his body of work will surely span the entire DC catalog by the time he reaches #60. Early listings have ended anywhere between $4,700 and $6,500, which will go a long way in assisting comic shops in need during these difficult times.
