Former Walking Dead actress Jeryl Prescott has signed on to play the role of Madame Xanadu in Swamp Thing, according to a report on Deadline. Prescott joins Derek Mears, Jennifer Beals, Crystal Reed, and Maria Sten on the series which follows a humanoid/plant elemental creature living in the swamp in a small Louisiana town.

Madame Xanadu is a DC Comics character that first appeared in 1978’s Doorway to Nightmare #1. The character is a supernatural heroine that uses tarot cards to help tell the future. She has assisted other supernatural characters in the past such as Constantine, Etrigan, Zatanna, Frankenstein, and Deadman.

Prescott is best known for her role as Jacqui on the initial season of The Walking Dead. Jacqui teamed with fellow survivors Glenn, T-Dog, Merle, and Morales as they made their way out of the zombie infested city of Atlanta. The character decides to take her own life by choosing to stay in the CDC building as it is set to explode. The Jacqui character made an appearance in the “Hounded” episode of Season 3, where she was one of the people that called Rick on the telephone. It was later revealed that Rick was hallucinating.
