Jeepers Creepers 4, titled Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, has been picked up for worldwide distribution by Screen Media and has been given a release date, according to report on Variety.
Screen Media, who released Jeepers Creepers 3 in 2017, announced its plan to release the fourth installment in the franchise sometime in the fall of 2021.
The film has no involvement from series creator Victor Salva. A new team was brought on to tell what is being described as the beginning of a new trilogy. Timo Vuorensola, known for the Iron Sky series, was tapped to direct while Sean Michael Argo wrote the new film. The film is produced by Jake Seal of Orwo Studios and Black Hangar Studios as well as Michael Ohoven of Infinity Films.
The plot of the film follows a couple, “Chase and girlfriend Laine as they attend Horror Hound, a festival held for the first time in Louisiana that attracts hundreds of geeks, freaks and die-hard horror fans from far and wide. As the event approaches, Laine begins to experience unexplained premonitions and disturbing visions associated with the town’s past; in particular, local legend/urban myth The Creeper. As the festival arrives and the blood-soaked entertainment builds to a frenzy, Laine believes that something unearthly has been summoned… and that she is at the centre of it.”
Details on the cast have not been announced, and it is currently unclear if Jonathan Breck, The Creeper, will be returning. It is also unclear whether the new film will be a continuation of the original trilogy, or if it will be continuing the plotlines setup in Jeepers Creepers 2 & 3.
