James Hetfield of Metallica Joins Cast of ‘Extremely Wicked’ Ted Bundy Movie

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, the upcoming thriller about serial killer Ted Bundy, just added a surprising new name to its impressive cast. In addition to Zac Efron, Lily Collins, John Malkovich, Angela Sarafyan, and Kaya Scodelario, the film will also feature Metallica frontman James Hetfield in a key role!

Variety reports that Hetfield will play, “Officer Bob Hayward, a no-nonsense Utah highway patrol veteran who was the first law enforcement officer to arrest Bundy in 1975 after pulling the killer over and discovering burglary tools in his car, but wisely suspecting much worse.”

Hetfield is no stranger to the big screen. Two Metallica projects- Some Kind of Monster and Through the Never– played in cinemas in 2004 and 2014 respectively. However, besides his voice acting role as Wolfgang in the Skylanders Academy television program, this will be Hetfield’s first acting performance outside of his role in Metallica.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will be directed by Joe Berlinger, who previously collaborated with Hetfield on Some Kind of Monster. Berlinger’s other works include the Paradise Lost documentary series and Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2.

Stay tuned to Horror News Network for more casting details on Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile as soon as they break!
