‘The Toxic Avenger’ Reboot Adds New Cast Member

The Legendary Entertainment’s reboot of The Toxic Avenger this week started to flesh out its supporting cast around star Peter Dinklage.
Jacob Tremblay–who already has a SAG Award nomination at the tender age of 14–will play an as-yet-undetermined role in the remake of the 1984 cult classic, as reported by Deadline.

In 2015, Tremblay had his breakout performance starring as Jack Newsome in Room, a role which earned him the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer. In 2017, the young performer starred alongside Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson in Wonder. Tremblay has also starred in a handful of genre films including Before I Wake, The Predator and Doctor Sleep.

Back in December we reported that four-time Emmy winner, Peter Dinklage, landed the leading role in the The Toxic Avenger, which will be written and directed by Macon Blair.

Legendary’s reimagining of the Troma classic will tell the story of follow a janitor at a health club who’s pushed out of a second-story window by bullies into a vat of toxic waste. The chemicals cause him to transform into a hideously deformed mutant gifted with superhuman size and strength.
