Jack O’Connell Joins ’28 Years Later’

Make sure your track shoes are up to par because the zombies are coming.

Jack O’Connell is the latest star added to the ranks of 28 Years Later. He joins Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes on the film which is slated to be a trilogy. Danny Boyle is set to direct the initial film with Candyman director Nia DaCosta signed to handle the second film. Rumors are that the films will shoot back-to-back.

O’Connell has appeared in 300: Rise of an Empire, Money Monster, Jungleland, and Ferrari.

Released on June 27, 2003, 28 Days Later was directed by Danny Boyle and starred Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Christopher Eccleston, Megan Burns and Brendan Gleeson. The film went on to introduce us to a new type of “zombie” which earning $84.6 million at the box office against a budget of only $8 million. In 2007 a sequel, 28 Weeks Later, was released and picked up six months after the original epidemic.
