Fire burn, and cauldron bubble…

Mayfair Witches–the eight-episode AMC series based on Anne Rice’s classic Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy–this week signed Jack Huston in the pivotal role of Lasher, according to a report on Deadline.

Huston–who recently appeared in House of Gucci and will be seen soon in the horror film Hail Mary–will portray Lasher, a powerful, shape-shifting being who has been bound to the Mayfair witches for hundreds of years.

Huston joins previously announced series regulars Alexandra Daddario (as Dr. Rowan Fielding), Harry Hamlin (as Cortland Mayfair) and Tongayi Chirisa (as Ciprien).

Mayfair Witches–led by showrunners and writers Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford–follows a young neurosurgeon (Daddario), “who discovers she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. And she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted the family for generations.”

The series–currently in production in New Orleans–is slated to hit AMC and AMC+ later this year.
