“M3GAN, turn off!”

Ivanna Sakhno has signed on to play a “major role” in the upcoming sequel to M3GAN, according to a report on Deadline.

Sakhno, who is probably best known for her role of “Shin Hati” in Ahsoka, has also appeared in such films as Pacific Rim: Uprising, The Spy Who Dumped Me, and Let It Snow.

Released on January 6, 2023, M3GAN was a hit at the box office earning $181 million against a budget of $12 million. The film, which was directed by Gerard Johnstone, starred Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Ronny Chieng, Jenna Davis and Amie Donald.

The official synopsis of the original film read “M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a lifelike doll that’s programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. Designed by Gemma, a brilliant roboticist, M3GAN can listen, watch, and learn as it plays the role of friend, teacher, playmate, and protector. When Gemma becomes the unexpected caretaker of her 8-year-old niece, she decides to pair the girl with a M3GAN prototype, a decision that leads to unimaginable consequences.”

The sequel’s script is written by Akela Cooper, who wrote the first film, and Gerard Johnstone, who directed M3GAN.

The next chapter in the franchise will be released on May 16, 2025. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for more on the M3GAN 2.0.
