Ishana Night Shyamalan’s Feature Debut Lands Lead

The Watchers–the feature directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan (daughter of the acclaimed filmmaker)–this week inked its lead as it prepares to start filming later this year, according to a report on Deadline.

Dakota Fanning (The Equalizer 3) will lead the cast of the New Line Cinema project that Shyamalan has adapted from the A.M. Shine novel. The horror pic is slated for a June 7, 2024 theatrical release.

In the film, Mina, a 28-year-old artist “becomes stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When she finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.”

M. Night Shyamalan is producing the feature, along with Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad. Jo Homewood is serving as executive producer.
