Fangs for a second season.

Interview with the Vampire–AMC’s take on the 1976 Anne Rice horror classic–is heading into its second season with a new cast member, according to a report on Deadline.

Ben Daniels (The Exorcist series on Fox) has signed on in the recurring role of Santiago, who is described as the leading vampire actor at the Theatre des Vampires “who grows increasingly suspicious of Louis and Claudia.”

The series–created by Rolin Jones–has so far followed Louis (Jacob Anderson), his “maker” Lestat (Sam Reid) and Claudia (Bailey Bass) in an “epic story of love, blood and the perils of immortality,” according to the synopsis.

The eight-episode second season is expected to start shooting next  month, with a projected wrap date of August. No debut date on AMC has yet been announced.

“We’re ramping up now,’ said executive producer Mark Johnson. “The bulk of the shooting will take place in Paris.”
