This could be a mother of a problem.
Goodnight Mommy–a remake of the 2014 horror pic–lands on Amazon Prime Video this Friday, Sept. 16, and several new images have dropped to tease the suspense. Check out the photos–courtesy of UPI–on this page.
In the film–from director Matt Sobel and screenwriter Kyle Warren–twin brothers (Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti) arrive at their mother’s (Naomi Watts) country home “only to discover her face is covered in bandages–the result, she explains, of recent cosmetic surgery,” according to the synopsis.
But the boys “sense that something doesn’t add up. The woman sets strange new house rules, smokes in the bathroom and secretly rips up a drawing they gave her. Things their loving mother would never do.”
As her behavior grows increasingly erratic, the boys start to think “that the woman beneath the gauze–who’s making their food and sleeping in the next room–isn’t their mother at all.”
The cast is rounded out by Jeremy Bobb (The Wolf Hour), Crystal Lucas-Perry (Mimesis Nosferatu) and Peter Hermann (Younger).
