Early to bed and early to rise may really be the best policy here.

It was way back in the summer of 2022 that a new indie horror pic–Late Night With the Devil–was said to be shooting in Australia, and this week it was revealed that the film has been acquired by IFC Films for a theatrical release and by Shudder for a small-screen debut. Stay tuned for exact release dates.

The feature–written and directed by Colin and Cameron Cairnes (100 Bloody Acres)–stars David Dastmalchian (The Boogeyman) as a late-night talk show host in 1977 who “unleashes evil into the nation’s living rooms.”

The filmmakers said in a statement that “there was something slightly dangerous about late-night TV in the ’70s and ’80s. We thought combining that atmosphere with the supernatural could make for a uniquely frightening film experience.”

The movie’s producers include Roy Lee (It) and Steven Schneider (Pet Sematary)–along with Derek Dauchy, Mat Govoni, Adam White and John Molloy.
