Every dog has her day–and her mate.
Screen Actors Guild Award winner Scoot McNairy will co-star opposite Amy Adams in the upcoming horror film Nightbitch, according to a report in Variety.
McNairy–known to genre fans for his roles in Monsters, Gone Girl and A Night in the Woods–will play Adams’ husband in the feature that will start shooting in Los Angeles in September.
The Searchlight Pictures entry–which does not yet have a release window–will eventually air on Hulu in the U.S., with additional debut plans to be announced at a later date.
The “darkly comic neo-horror film”–written and directed by Marielle Heller from Rachel Yoder’s bestselling debut novel–follows a suburban mother “thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler, but who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood,” according to the synopsis.
The woman (Adams) “becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a canine.”
