‘Hound’ Script Starring Zoey Deutch Acquired by Searchlight

In what could definitely add some originality to the horror scene, Deadline has reported the screen rights to Hound have been acquired by Searchlight and set to star Zoey Deutch.

Based on a screenplay by Lisa Duva, Hound follows a dog-groomer named Callie, played by Deutch. After she is bitten by a stray canine she begins experience odd changes both of body and mind leading her down a path she may never return from.

Also a producer on the film, Deutch comes from a family in the entertainment industry being the daughter of actress Lea Thompson (the Back to the Future trilogy) and director Howard Deutch (Pretty in Pink). She got her start in the young adult horror films Beautiful Creatures and Vampire Academy before her break out part in Netflix’s Set It Up.

A production start date has not yet been set, however updates will be posted as soon as they’re announced.
