It’s not wise to pull the Devil’s tail.

The Last Days of Jack Sparks–a new horror TV series from Vertigo Films–has lined up a director and screenwriter to adapt the novel by Jason Arnopp, according to a report on Deadline.

Rob Savage (Host) will helm the project–fresh off directing the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Boogeyman–and Gaby Hull (Two Weeks to Live) will handle the screenplay. No news on casting or production schedules has been revealed.

The Last Days of Jack Sparks follows a “pop culture journalist and supernatural skeptic who’s making a documentary about the occult,” according to the synopsis.

But, during the filmmaking, Sparks mocks an exorcism he witnesses–“putting into motion a series of terrifying, tragic and mysterious events.”

Savage called the original novel “hilarious and terrifying,” adding that it’s a “unique take on the genre–and one that will give audiences a new reason to fear the dark. I’m delighted to be working with Vertigo Films again on this horror odyssey.”
