Horror-S/F Film ‘Next Exit’ Tells “Dark Ghost Story”

by Thomas Tuna

Where do you go when you die?

Next Exit–a horror-s/f feature that debuted at Tribeca earlier this year–has been picked up for international sale by Blue Finch Films, according to a report on Deadline.

The film–the directorial debut for Mali Elfman–boasts a strong genre cast, including Katie Parker (The Fall of the House of Usher), Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass), Rose McIver (Ghosts) and Karen Gillan (Avengers: Endgame).

Next Exit follows a research scientist “who makes headlines proving she can track people after death,” according to the synopsis. Her scientific study is looking for volunteers “for a pain-free passing into the afterlife–and it attracts two young misfit strangers who embark on a lengthy road trip into the unknown.”

Elfman called Next Exit a “sweet, dark, fun ghost story. I’m excited to be partnering with Blue Finch to help bring this magical nightmare to audiences.”
