Horror-S/F Feature ‘Green Bank’ Signs Genre Actors As Leads

Horrors! No Wi-Fi?

Green Bank–a new horror film with a science-fiction twist–has landed its two leads, and will be shopped at the Berlin Film Festival later this month, according to a report in Variety.

Jasmin Savoy Brown (Scream) and Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) have boarded the pic from director Josh Ruben (Scare Me) and screenwriter Aaron Horwitz (The Cleansing Hour). Big Swell Entertainment’s Andy Horwitz (Suicide Squad) is producing the film.

Green Bank–set in an American town where Wi-Fi, cell service and all other radio transmissions are forbidden–follows infant sleep trainer Sloan (Brown), “who realizes the parents of the child she’s caring for are much more than the clueless yuppies they seem to be,” according to the brief synopsis.

Given that horror films now “slay at the box office,” Ruben said, “we need to prove that audiences want to have fun at the movies again. That’s the magic word–fun. Horror is the bulletproof genre, and Green Bank has the full package–it’s smart, scary and wickedly funny.”
