Horror News Network’s Award for Best Horror Anthology of 2017 goes to John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Volume 3.
John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Volume Three (published by Storm King Productions-the official home of Carpenter properties and run by his wife and producer Sandy King) follows the format of previous editions in the series, bringing together traditional names from the world of comics, in addition to those whose primary experience has been in Hollywood.
The original graphic novel anthology features such well-known creators as John Carpenter, Sandy King, Steve Niles, James Ninness, Joe Harris, David J Schow, Louise Simonson, Duane Swierczynski, Jon Bogdanove, Tim Bradstreet, Darick Robertson, and many more. With eleven short stories (totaling 176 pages), the collection harkens back to an earlier time in the horror comic business, when anthologies dominated your local newsstand. Horror fans hope that Carpenter and King continue this series in 2018, and again bring together a talented group of writers and artists to produce another successful collaboration.
