They say you are what you eat…

Bones and All–a new “coming-of-age horror story”–does not yet have a release window, but the first indication of a near-at-hand debut is the ratting it received this week from the MPAA, according to a report on JoBlo.com.

The horror flick–directed by Luca Guadagnino (Suspiria) from a screenplay by David Kajganich–is rated R for “strong, bloody and disturbing violent content; language throughout; some sexual content; and brief graphic nudity.” Yup, that pretty much defines an R rating.

Bones and All–based on a novel by Camille DeAngelis–follows Maren Yearly (Taylor Russell) “on a cross-country trip as she searches for the father she’s never met in an attempt to understand why she has the urge to kill and eat the people who love her,” according to the synopsis.

Russell is joined in the cast by Timothee Chalamet (Dune), Mark Rylance (The Trial of the Chicago 7), Andre Holland (Moonlight), Michael Stuhlbarg (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), Francesca Scorsese (The Departed), Anna Cobb (We’re All Going to the World’s Fair) and Chloe Sevigny (American Horror Story).
