Let the bidding begin!
A live auction run by Propstore–a company specializing in movie treasures and collectibles–is scheduled for the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles next month–and horror items will be among the attractions.
The auction will take place from June 28-30, with in-room bidding, as well as online and phone bids, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
One of the horror collectibles up for bids will be the Spider Head-Thing from John Carpenter’s 1982 horror-s/f classic The Thing. Modeled on actor Charles Hallahan, the item was designed by special effects makeup artist Rob Bottin. Expected to be one of the more sought-after items at the auction, this piece reportedly could fetch up to $200,000.
Another highly prized genre piece up for auction will be a screen-matched evil clown doll from 1982’s Poltergeist, which is expected to go for between $200,000 and $400,000.
