Horror Hunting! For the Week of July 7th

by Sean McLaughlin

Welcome to this week’s edition of Horror Hunting!, as we zoom through the middle of July.  Hey….not sure if you’ve heard yet but the folks over at AMC are in the middle of shooting the fifth season of a little series called “The Walking Dead”, or something like that.  Hopefully it’ll be as neato as Breaking Bad!  All sarcasm aside, if you haven’t seen the new teaser clip from the upcoming season of TWD then you’re the only one.  In honor of all of this undead anticipation, I’ve uncovered a couple of ghoulish goodies from the TWD universe that’ll hold you over until October.  These are both pre-orders, so be sure to pounce on the opportunity to reserve one if you like what you see!

Walking Dead Zombie Letter Opener (pre-order) – Urban Collector

First up is this very cool, very enticing letter opener from Diamond Select Toys, via Urban Collector.  What makes it stand apart from other, less dead-ish forms of opening physical correspondence?  Just check out the picture below.  This is an office accessory that even Michonne would be proud to own.  The Walking Dead Letter Opener is scheduled for a November 2014 release, so order yours now and take advantage of the discounted $74.99 price tag (regularly $89.99).

Walking Dead Michonne Bust Bank  (pre-order) – Entertainment Earth

Speaking of Michonne…..I’m sure by now you’ve seen the generic zombie bank from The Walking Dead, the one that comes in both color (awesome) and black & white (awesom-er!).  If you’re a fan of the TWD universe you’ll be excited to know that there are a few more versions of these banks making their way to store shelves soon, beginning with this Michonne piece coming in November 2014.  Check out Entertainment Earth’s shop now to pre-order for $19.99, and make sure to have one as soon as they ship.  Other fine versions to look out for include a black & white Rick Grimes (January 2015) and Michonne’s Pet Zombie #2 in color (December 2014).  Though money has zero value in the post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland, Michonne will gladly take your spare change anyway!
